Considering Garage Storage Solutions

If you have a family, you have probably noticed that it does not take long to accumulate a lot of clutter. This happens without anyone actively trying to make a mess. It is just a simple fact that several people bringing in one or two “extra” things each week can result in a house that is all but overflowing with non-essential items.
The challenge when this happens is deciding what to do to get things back in to some type of order. The first thing to do of course is to get rid of what no one really wants. Sometimes this will be enough to clear things, but usually, some other solution is needed as well. What usually happens is that people start moving things into some out of the way storage area, like the garage. That is all well and good, but it is only a temporary solution since the garage eventually will fill up and become unusable for its intended purpose of housing and protecting the family vehicle.
Luckily, there is another option available for storage that is both low cost and low maintenance. The idea is to make the most of the overhead storage space that is available in the garages of most homes. Garage storage solutions like easily mounted racks that are suspended from the ceiling allow homeowners to get the clutter not only out of the house, but also off of the garage floor. There are several options when it comes to these units, and the prices vary according to size, brand and features.
One of the most common styles is a simple adjustable platform rig that mounts directly to the support beams of the garage ceiling. These are a great option, but you might need a bit of extra help lifting things into place. A second option features a similar configuration, but the entire system is outfitted with a motor which can raise or lower the storage rack from floor level all the way up to the ceiling. While these cost more, they could be the perfect home storage solution for people with mobility issues.
