The goal is to not feel cluttered or cramped, regardless of the space that you have available at present. The single best way to find more storage space, and the only way to actually create more space in your home, is to use decorative storage boxes of some kind to both store your things and decorate your home at the same time. A classic example is an antique trunk, something that is big and offers a lot of room inside but also is going to look very natural in certain styles of home design. If this will not work for your home, there is a variety of decorative plastic containers on the market. Currently, in various colors and sizes, one of which should work for you.

If you have an extra plastic storage drawer or two, or if you get some airtight plastic containers at the store, you should be able to 50s pretty much anywhere you have a little extra space in your home. Get very creative with this. Think about underneath the bed, or underneath a chair or couch in the living room. Does your dresser have any space underneath it? How about under the kitchen sink? That’s not really a joke. If you have the space, and you have an airtight container, go for it .
