Have You Protected Your Business?

Insuring our things, be it our homes or our lives or anything in between, tends to slip our minds surprisingly often. However, getting caught out can prove catastrophic. Incidents rarely seem funny if they happen to us. It can’t be denied, however, that some accidents are really quite funny (if painful for the unfortunate individual involved).
A surprising amount of accidents can happen in the office, and they range from the trivial to the deadly serious. A none-too-dainty coworker damaging the photocopier while getting up to mischief might be funny but also expensive; such a possibility, if outlandish, is certainly a good reason to take out office insurance. However, an employee getting shocked by a poorly wired piece of equipment is definitely not amusing.
Business insurance is also nothing to be sniffed at. Just think what would happen if a car (or a bull, perhaps!) crashed through the window of a small, independently run glassware shop. Even if there were no injuries the potential loss of money could finish off the business completely.
While it might not occur to you that hairdressers or beauty practitioners might need to take out salon insurance, it’s actually a rather large problem in the trade. Beauty salons contain a lot of potentially dangerous equipment which can harm either clients or staff. A recent trend in the beauty industry is the acid face peel. While these peels usually contain only a very small percentage of acid, some are more powerful, and require a medical professional in order to administer them. There has been a spate of recent court cases where improperly performed beauty treatments have ended up seriously harming clients.
Let these stories be a lesson to you: always take out the correct insurance for your business.
